Clarinets of Spring

As promised, this clarinet-playing fool is returning to his (musically) promiscuous ways!

I'll be playing hither and yonder quite a bit for the remainder of 2024. There are two public shows coming up in the next two weeks that I wanted to bring to your attention:

Thursday, April 4 -- Mr. Henry's

I'll be back at this legendary Capitol Hill venue in DC this Thursday, playing my usual mix of jazz, swing, and klezmer with vocalist Flo Anito, pianist Sean Lane, and special guest bassist Zoe Jorgenson. Doors open at 6, and we play from 7:30 to 10:30 pm. Tickets are $15 (not $20, like indicated on the above poster). Advanced ticket purchase is STRONGLY ENCOURAGED!

Wednesday, April 10 -- New Deal Cafe

Greenbelt, Maryland's favorite live music venue! I'll be performing with vocalist Flo Anito, pianist Sean Lane, and tubaphonist Tom Holtz from 7 to 9 pm. There's no cover, but advance reservations are pretty much a must. They're old school -- ya gotta call the Cafe at 301-474-5642 to make those reservations. Don't delay!

Finally, a personal note of gratitude...

I have been simply overwhelmed by the outpouring of condolences and support following the passing of my wife last month. I apologize if I haven't thanked you personally, but please know that I truly appreciate the vast blanket of love that has surrounded the kiddos and myself over the past few weeks.

And a MASSIVE thank you to everyone who donated to the Irvine Nature Center in Sandy's name. As of last count, about 300 different individuals made donations, totaling a little over $20,000. Irvine was a very special place for Sandy and she would be overjoyed if she knew the incredible level of generosity she's inspired. We'll be meeting with them later this week to discuss how best to memorialize her there. And if you still wanted to make a donation, it's not too late! Just click here! Make sure to click the box that says "Honor Someone Special" and indicate that the donation is in memory of "Sandy Alexander." Thank you all so much.
