The Life of a Showclarinetist

The next few weeks are awfully busy for your favorite woodwind maven! As always, I TRY to keep my schedule up-to-date here, as well as make frequent posts on social media, but below are a few choice highlights. But, if you're reading this Taylor and Travis, I'll ALWAYS make time for you guys, should you need a little clarinetist for your big day.

Wednesday, October 8 -- New Deal Cafe

113 Centerway, Roosevelt Center, Greenbelt, MD 20770

Seth Kibel & Flo Anito

7 to 9 pm

We'll be joined by guitarist/vocalist Matt Kelley and bassist Bob Abbott for an evening of jazz, swing, klezmer, and jokes-in-poor-taste about the government shutdown. No cover, but tipping is happily encouraged. The New Deal no longer takes reservations, so arrive early to get a good seat. In fact, I suggest you go grab your seat right now.

It's ALWAYS a good time when I play for the Potomac River Jazz Club! There'll be a cash bar (shockingly inexpensive, btw), food, plentiful parking, and a fantabulous dance floor (and plenty of places for seated listeners, as well).

We'll be performing from 2 to 4:30 pm. Yours truly, along with Flo Anito on vocals, Sean Lane on keys, Bob Abbott on double bass, and Chris Martin on drums.

Lots of vintage jazz, swing, a little bit of klezmer, and a few polkas, as well, since it's Oktoberfest season! Did you know that "Kibel" is Polish for "barrel maker," a.k.a. "Cooper?" It's almost as if I WROTE "Beer Barrel Polka."

Sunday, October 12 -- Rosensteel Hall

9707 Rosensteel Avenue, Silver Spring, MD 20910

2 to 4:30 pm, $20 PRJC members, $25 non-members, students free

Advanced ticket purchase HIGHLY encouraged!

Sunday, October 12 -- Emerson Avenue Salon

McLean, Virginia

7:30 to 9 pm

Jazz, swing, and klezmer in a lovely house concert setting. Reservations are MANDATORY for in-person attendance. They also livestream the concerts here: https://www.youtube.com/@emersonavenuesalonline7910

Yours truly, along with Sean Lane on piano and Bob Abbott on double bass. Free, but donations requested.

Oh, and if you're anywhere near the lovely town of Frederick, Maryland, get tickets for this very special concert on Thursday, October 23! (Check out who's at the SAME venue the day before me!!!)

Now...some choice video clips from recent performances, including our epic night at Washington DC's Blues Alley!
