The next few weeks are awfully busy for your favorite woodwind maven! As always, I TRY to keep my schedule up-to-date here, as well as make frequent posts on social media, but below are a few choice highlights. But, if you're reading this Taylor and Travis, I'll ALWAYS make time for you guys, should you need a little clarinetist for your big day.
113 Centerway, Roosevelt Center, Greenbelt, MD 20770
Seth Kibel & Flo Anito
7 to 9 pm
We'll be joined by guitarist/vocalist Matt Kelley and bassist Bob Abbott for an evening of jazz, swing, klezmer, and jokes-in-poor-taste about the government shutdown. No cover, but tipping is happily encouraged. The New Deal no longer takes reservations, so arrive early to get a good seat. In fact, I suggest you go grab your seat right now.
It's ALWAYS a good time when I play for the Potomac River Jazz Club! There'll be a cash bar (shockingly inexpensive, btw), food, plentiful parking, and a fantabulous dance floor (and plenty of places for seated listeners, as well).
We'll be performing from 2 to 4:30 pm. Yours truly, along with Flo Anito on vocals, Sean Lane on keys, Bob Abbott on double bass, and Chris Martin on drums.
Lots of vintage jazz, swing, a little bit of klezmer, and a few polkas, as well, since it's Oktoberfest season! Did you know that "Kibel" is Polish for "barrel maker," a.k.a. "Cooper?" It's almost as if I WROTE "Beer Barrel Polka."
