So, as I type, my upcoming album, "Clarinet, Without a Net," is at the manufacturer and all systems are a go for June 5 release. As that magic date nears, I'll probably be sending out messages a wee bit more often than usual, perhaps with some additional sneak peeks at the songs and videos it'll include.
But in the meantime, I've still got lots of shows I'd like to bring to your attention. As always, follow me on social media (I'm particularly active on Truth Social) or check out my calendar online for updates, but here are a few highlights for the next couple of weeks:
Wednesday, April 29 -- New Deal Cafe
113 Centerway Street
Greenbelt, MD 20770
7 to 9 pm
Another fun night of jazz, swing, and klezmer in one of the DC area's most popular venues. Yours truly, along with vocalist Flo Anito, pianist Sean Lane, and bassist Bob Abbott. No cover, but (cow)tipping is encouraged. Get there early if you want a good seat! Get there late if you want to stand in the back!
Sunday, May 10 -- Edlavitch DC Jewish Community Center
1529 16th Street, NW
Washington, DC 20036
9:30 am to noon
A Mother's Day klezmer morning, complete with brunch, mimosas ("you had me at mimosas"), and live music from yours truly! This is being presented as part of JxJ - DC Jewish Film & Music Festival and will be part concert, part brunch, and part presentation for a new book from acclaimed photographer Lloyd Wolf, "A Joyful Noise!," which documents the klezmer revival of the last few decades (I'm in there, too!).
Brunch starts at 9:30 am and then the music will begin around 10:30 am with guitarist Kristoffer Belgica, bassist Zoe Jorgenson, and a certain loud clarinetist.
Advanced ticked purchase for this show is a must!
