I could not be more excited to be part of this special concert, which will also feature such musical luminaries as NEA Fellow Phil Wiggins, folk legends Cathy Fink & Marcy Marxer, Don Flemons (Carolina Chocolate Drops), and Brazilian songstress Cissa Paz.  We'll all be performing original interpretations of rare musical material contained in the archives.
For my segment, I've transcribed and re-arranged a slew of melodies played by the Galacian fiddler Berish Katz, and recorded by famed Yiddish folklorist Ruth Rubin in 1947.  I got to go into the Archives and explore the original reel-to-reel tapes of these field recordings.  It's been an exciting musical adventure for me!
Some of these melodies I've arranged in a fairly traditional manner, and some I have not.  At this performance, I'll be accompanied by pianist Sean Lane.  If you're anywhere in the DC area this Wednesday, I encourage you come to this special event.  If you're not, there will be video forthcoming!

Snark & Despair cover

The new album, "Seth Kibel Presents Songs of Snark & Despair," is now pretty much available at every off-ramp on the information superhighway.

Click above, and you can listen to samples from every song, as well as find easy links to purchase a copy on CDBaby, or purchase digital downloads from iTunes, Amazon, and CDBaby, as well as stream this puppy on Spotify.

I've invested a lot of time, sweat, and moolah into this project, so I'd love for you to listen to it.  And if you like what you hear, please help me to spread the word! Due to the overtly political nature of this recording, many usual promotional avenues are not available to me.  So I'm really counting on ALL OF YOU
to help me spread the word.  Share it on social media, send it to your friends, write reviews on any of the above sites, add it to playlists, etc.  Any promo is good promo!

Oh, here's some early press for the album!  M ore to come, with any luck!
