Oy, with the clarinet playing...

Oy, with the clarinet playing...

(Artwork: "Moses and the Ten Commandments" by Shlomo Katz)

I know a lot of you feel Moses' pain. Nonetheless, apparently a few of you are gluttons for punishment and have asked where you can hear my loud hecklestick over the next few weeks.

Three shows I want to bring to your attention this morning. One in NY, and two in DC.

Saturday, February 4 -- Jazz on Main

My first time at this new(ish) jazz club in Mount Kisco, New York, practically walking distance from the hospital where I was born. I might just stroll over there to see the commemorative plaque I'm sure they've already put up noting my birth. Or maybe a statue? With a fountain? I'm sure there must be something there...

Sets at 7 and 9 pm and advanced ticket purchase is HIGHLY encouraged!

Sunday, February 12 -- Klezmer Brunch at the Edlavitch DC Jewish Community Center

The monthly klezmer brunch. The twist THIS time is that I'll be joined by some amazing musicians from the Washington Metropolitan Gamer Symphony Orchestra (WMGSO) playing some incredible arrangements of video game music, all with various Jewish connections. Will (Kibel) and I will open the show with some traditional klezmer (and a few other surprises) and then we'll be joined by the other members of this innovative ensemble.

Brunch starts at 10:30 am, followed by the concert at 11:30 am.

$25 concert & brunch, $15 concert only, kids 7 & under are free. Advance ticket purchase is a MUST!

Thursday, February 16 -- Mr. Henry's in DC

We were SUPPOSED to do this show in early January, but we had to cancel on short notice due to an electrical outage in the neighborhood. Let's hope we have better luck this time!

I'll be joined by some of my favorite people -- Sean Lane on piano, Bob Abbott on double bass, and superlative vocalist Flo Anito! We'll be doing a lot of classic jazz and swing, Great American Songbook standards, and yes, a bit o' klezmer, too!

Doors open at 6 pm, and then we play from 7:30 to 10:30 pm. Tickets are $15 and there's a $12 food/drink minimum.

Advanced ticket purchase is a MUST!
