It's a Hot Clarinet Summer

Today marks three weeks since I released my new album, Clarinet, Without a Net, and while it's a little hard to tell in this digital age, I think everything is going swimmingly!

Everyone has been so supportive of this project, and I thrive off all your positive feedback and encouragement!

Just a reminder about some of the many ways you can both hear this album (I'm kinda proud of it) and support my continued musical escapades:

1) You can buy a physical copy, as either a CD or vinyl record, directly from my website!

2) You can purchase a digital download.

3) You can stream my album from pretty much any major music platform! Even though the financial compensation from places like Spotify, Amazon, and Apple Music are laughable (they actually had to invent a new number to represent what Spotify pays each artist per stream), it definitely helps if I can boost those stats.

4) You can like, share, and post about my album! On pretty much any platform. Anyway you can spread the word is GREATLY appreciated. For example, you could rent a small plane to fly over your town or city with a banner that reads "I listen to Seth Kibel all the time -- so should you!"

Oh, speaking of supporting me, many of you already have, quite generously, through my Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign. Over the past three weeks, I've been busy sending everyone their rewards -- digital downloads, as well as CD and vinyl copies of the album. But it's come to my attention that some of the messages sent through Kickstarter have been ending up in people's spam folders. So if you DID help fund this project on Kickstarter, and you haven't heard from me or received your appropriate reward, please reach out to me directly so I can make things right!

Here's yet another video from the new record.

"A Tale of the Ragged Mountains," an original song I composed inspired by the Edgar Allan Poe short story of the same name. Please check it out and, if you're willing -- like it, comment on it, and share it far and wide.
Extra points if you post the following comment on YouTube: "I heard a slight clarinet, and I knew it was the clarinet of mortal terror. It was not a clarinet of pain or of grief --oh, no! --it was the low stifled clarinet that arises from the bottom of the soul when overcharged with awe."

I've got quite a few public concerts and other events this summer. As always, go to my web calendar or just follow me on social media for updates. But there are three concerts coming up later this summer where I'll specifically feature much of the repertoire from the new album. And all three of these concerts have limited capacities and, in the case of the two August shows, reserved seating, so the sooner you grab those tickets or reservations, the better!

Sunday, July 26 -- 49 West Coffeehouse, Winebar, & Gallery

49 West Street, Annapolis, MD 21401

7 to 9:30 pm

I'll be playing as part of their "Intimate Jazz" series in the back room, along with pianist Harry Appelman and bassist Bob Abbott. Jazz, klezmer, and more. There are only 40 seats available, so call 49 West at 410-626-9796 ASAP to reserve your spot!

Wednesday, August 5 -- Keystone Korner Baltimore

1350 Lancaster Street, Baltimore, MD 21231

7 to 9 pm

A bona fide album release show, with many of the musicians from the album backing me up -- Marcel Penzes on trombone, Erin Murphy Snedecor on cello, Ahren Buchheister on dobro, guitar, and mandolin, Eliot Seppa on double bass, and Haroon Alam on tablas. Both in-person and livestream tickets available -- click here to get 'em!

Saturday, August 8 -- Creative Cauldron

410 South Maple Avenue, Retail 116, Falls Church, VA 22046

7:30 to 9:30 pm

Another album release show, as part of their "Passport to the World" concert series. Again, I'll be joined by musicians who played on the album -- Marcel Penzes on trombone, Maximillian Jacobs on violin, Simon Baron on accordion, Tom Holtz on tuba, and Rowan Corbett on percussion and bones.

Both in-person and livestream tickets available -- click here to get 'em!

Remember, with both the Keystone Korner and the Creative Cauldron shows (I only play places that alliterate), you get to pick your seats WHEN you buy your tickets. So the sooner you get them, the closer you'll be in order to throw tomatoes at me.
