Less Cowbell, More Kibel

Sunday, February 22, 2026

The above photo (taken by Steven Barba) is one of my favorites from the recent recording sessions for my new album, "Clarinet, Without a Net." The album's completely recorded, by the way, and I'm currently knee-deep in post-production, with an official release date scheduled for Friday, June 5.

As always, you can see where my public performances are by checking out my sort-of-complete calendar here. I particularly would like to point out that, in mid-March, I'll once again be hitting the road with pianist Daniel Weiser, performing Rhapsody in Blue, and more, at concerts in South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. If you're in that neck of the woods, I'd love to see ya! And feel free to pass along my concert calendar to anyone you might know along our tour route!

But before I head for warmer environs...

Friday, February 27 -- Brookeville Beer Farm

20315 A Georgia Avenue, Brookeville, MD 20833

5:30 to 8:30 pm

No cover!

Jazz, swing, and just a wee bit of klezmer! Lots of tasty beverages and wood-fired pizza! I'll be joined by pianist Sean Lane and, as a special treat, gifted jazz violinist Nataly Merezhuk.

And then, after I get back to the Mid-Atlantic, I've got this exciting show right in our nation's capital!

Here's another sneak preview of the new album! At our last recording session, we decided to record a version of one of my new original compositions for an entry into this year's NPR Tiny Desk Contest. Check it out below and, if you don't mind, please like, comment, and/or share. The more online chatter we get, the greater the likelihood we'll come to the attention of the illuminati who run NPR Music.
...and here's an example of the kind of stuff I'll be playing with pianist Daniel Weiser on our upcoming southern tour!
...and finally, here's a song from January's show at Keystone Korner! I'll be back there in May with the legendary Daryl Davis.
