Celebrating two jazz icons & Snarky Shows Scheduled!

Monday, October 2, 2017
Monk & Dizzy
Monk & Diz at 100!
This month will see the centenaries of two American legends -- the iconoclastic pianist and composer Thelonious Sphere Monk (October 10) and pioneering trumpeter and musical innovator John Birks "Dizzy" Gillespie (October 21).
To celebrate this moment in music history, I'll be leading an all-star band of musicians at Baltimore's leading venue for live jazz.
Thursday, October 5 -- Seth Kibel & Friends
"Tribute to Monk & Diz"
An Die Musik
409 N. Charles Street
Baltimore, MD  21201
410-385-2638
8 to 10 pm
$10 to $15
Tickets will be available at the door, but you can save a few bucks if you buy them in advance by clicking this link!
Seth Kibel -- clarinet, flute, saxophone, witty and insightful historical commentary
Sean Lane -- piano
Gordon Russell (from Florida!) -- trumpet
Bob Abbott -- double bass
Tom Teasley -- percussion
It's no substitute for buying an actual ticket, but here's the FB event page for this special show.

CD Release Shows of Snark & Despair!

Snark & Despair cover

Tickets are now available for the only two live performances of the music from new album!  One show in Bethesda, one in Baltimore, and that's it!

Get yer tickets now, because these shows will have the largest audiences for any CD release shows ever.  Period.

These concerts will feature ALL of the songs from the new record, plus mini-sets from all of the vocalists who sung my snarky ditties -- David Kitchen, Flo Anito, Billy Coulter, Damon Foreman, Black Betty (Jenny Langer), and Chris Urquiaga.  All backed by a crack house band consisting of pianist Sean Lane, guitarist Steve Steckler, bassist Russ Rodgers, and drummer Wes Crawford.

Tuesday, November 7 (Election Night!) -- Bethesda Blues & Jazz Supper Club
Again, it's no substitute for buying tickets, but here's a FB event page.
Thursday, November 30 -- The Creative Alliance in Baltimore
Wanna brush up on the lyrics so you can sing along at these shows?
Purchase, download, and/or stream the album now!
