North of Baltimore, then Glen Echo, then WAY north of Baltimore...

This clarinetist is going places...

2023 is shaping up to be a VERY busy year for me, musically-speaking. For the latest on my whereabouts, you can always check out my website at www.sethkibel.com, or see what kind of trouble I'm causing on various social media platforms.

But here are a few highlights for the coming weeks:

Saturday, January 21 -- Black Locust Hops Farm Brewery

This is a new-to-me venue, but it sounds like it'll be a hoot! It's located in Freeland, Maryland, just south of the Pennsylvania line. I'll be playing from 6:30 to 9:30 pm, along with pianist Sean Lane and bassist Bob Abbott. Jazz, swing, and klezmer! And beer!

So if you're in that north-of-Baltimore part of the state (or know someone who is) come on out and have a microbrew with us! There's no cover charge. If you drink responsibly, I promise to play clarinet irresponsibly.

Saturday, January 28 -- Glen Echo Park (swing dance)

We haven't done all that many swing dances post-pandemic, so I'm really looking forward to this one. It's another wonderful Gottaswing event in the historic Spanish Ballroom at Glen Echo. We play from 9 to 11:30 pm, and there's an intro dance lesson at 8 pm included in the price of admission. Save $10 by getting your ticket in advance!

I'll be joined at this dance by the fabulous Flo Anito on vocals, Tom Mitchell on guitar, Bob Abbott on double bass, and Wes Crawford on drums.

Saturday, February 4 -- Jazz on Main (in Mt. Kisco, NY)

A rare pilgrimage back to the motherland! I was actually born walking distance from this new jazz club, so this is totally a "full circle" moment for me. I'll be joined by my fellow New York expat Sean Lane on piano as well as New Jersey's finest bassist, Brian Glassman.

We'll be playing jazz, swing, and klezmer from 7 to 10:30 pm. It's a small-ish club so I HIGHLY recommend getting your tickets in advance. Please tell all your friends, family, debtors, and debtees that live in the NY metro area!
