The legendary jazz clarinetist Pee Wee Russell once said, "There's plenty of money to be made playing jazz clarinet. Problem is, Benny Goodman has already made all of it."
As a clarinetist, it should come as no surprise that two of my biggest influences are Benny Goodman and Artie Shaw, two towering giants of the Swing Era. Well, I'm excited to report that my next show at one of my favorite venues, Keystone Korner Baltimore, will be a tribute to their lives and music.
